Dear: Rheanne

I had a nice trip to Tundra and it was freezing cold. I'll tell you about it. At first I was amazed about everything I saw. There were animals that I have never seen before, like a Reindeer.

It was like in Antarctica. It was so amazing I hoped you were there to see all of the cool stuff there. The place I stayed in, was very comfortable.

Sincerely

Summer Learning Journey Day 5 activity 1

On your blog tell us whether you think logging should be allowed in New Zealand. Be sure to provide at least two reasons to support your argument.

Birds that live on trees needs homes, but we also need homes. So I prefer that we should log trees for us to have homes. But also make homes for the ones who live on trees such as owls. Kids like me, like to see birds they never seen before. I've decided that I will choose to log the tree, why? It's because other people need homes. You might be saying "birds also need home". My answer to that question is "we can also make homes for them so we should also make homes for birds instead of just making houses for us. We should be careful not to ruined there homes.

That is all and please give me some feedback.

Summer Learning Journey Day 4 Activity 2

Favourite food.
My favourite food is especially a Filipino food. Its Turon. You might not know what Torun is but it looks like this.

So that is my favourite food.

How to Make it:
you will need:
sliced plantain bananas
2 cups brown sugar
cooking oil
spring roll

Place a spring roll wrapper in front of you, then place a banana slice on the wrapper ⅔ of the way down. First, fold from the bottom up. We want to wrap it tight. (half way up.) Next, fold the sides in and continue to roll up. Use some water to moisten the top inch before rolling it up completely. Once you’ve rolled all the banana slices, dust the rolls with the remaining brown sugar. This will give it a light glaze and a bigger crunch. Once you’ve rolled all the banana slices, dust the rolls with the remaining brown sugar. This will give it a light glaze and a bigger crunch. if you want to eat it right away with it ht it is your choice. you can cool it down.

Summer Learning Journey Week one Day 3 Activity 1

Fantastic beast:

A beast once live in a horrible place or should I say the forest, but that was
before he became a beast. It happened in Christmas.
He had a gift, but it was too simple he yelled and scream and whined about it.
After all that, he finally stopped. He slept and her family was not happy about it,
even Santa. So Santa had a plan that could make him learn his lesson.
While he was sleeping he didn’t know he kept on growing. His teeth grew,
and his eyes and ears got bigger. His skin colour turned green.

The next day he found himself in the forest. He got lost then finally he got
back to his village but every one was scared of him and think he's a stink
bomb. He didn’t knew he turned into a beast. He found out when he saw
himself looking hideous by looking at a mirror and by the fish smell of his
breath. It’s been 12 years, his family has thought he died, but he was still
alive. Every Christmas he gets 3 coals or even a 100 coals. Then he finally
thought his lesson he yelled out I'm sorry but not in English in a scary way.
Everything was back to normal.

Hope you like how I describe a beast. Also please give me some feedback.

Summer Learning Journey Lesson 2

We have been doing SLJ for a few days now now we are at lesson 2.
Our job is to find a book to Curious kiwi because he had nothing to read,
Here is what I chose for him that i read before:

This is about boy called Jeff and Bradley. Jeff was once Bradly's friend then Jeff became popular because the other boys thought he punched Bradley they were no longer friends, but thanks to Carla they were friend in the end after all. Sadly Carla had to go switched schools, by the way she is the school counselour. All of the parents except Bradley's parents complained abut her.

The one who wrote this book is Louis Sachar. This is my favourite book because it had a problem and they solved it. This book is amazing.

Basketball Story

WALT: hook the reader in by using our senses.

We have been working on hooking the reader in by using our senses. Hooking the reader in makes them ask question about whats going to happened next.

Here is what I have done:

The ball was bouncing slowly in my mind, I didn’t know what I should do. I was only good at
passing not shooting to get a score. I looked at my teammates, there were all blocked. I knew
I couldn't shoot it, but i had to give it a try.

Tik,tok, tik, tok the time was running fast and the cheerleaders were cheering for us, but I think
they shouldn’t because I can’t shoot.

I jumped up and took a score... and hit the referee right on his arm. “Ooops, sorry referee.”
(Beeeeeep) the referee whistled.

They changed the referee and the old referee went to the hospital because he had broken a
bone in his arm. I tried again. Anytime I had tried I couldn’t score, maybe I could hit the other
referee again. Luckily they bought a lot of referees.  I thought about the one time I did score
when I was 7 years old. I whispered to myself, “I can do it, I’m a, champion. I just know it.”
I had to do it now. (Beeeeeeep!) The other referee whistled. I did it, I scored. Everyone was
proud of me, our team got the trophy. It was a dream come true.

“Yeahhhh!” people screamed. Everyone was suprised, because they knew that I couldn’t shoot.
“Goooo!, Tigers!” the cheerleaders cheered. “Tigers, winner’s,” one person was saying.
Suddenly a lot of people started to say “Tigers, winners!” as well. “Tigers, are winers!” everyone
screamed.

When the game finished one of our teammates seemed to be missing, it was Fred. I looked
outside and he was being carried by the other team. “Oyy, I thought you were gonna let us win,”
the other team that we beaten said.
“I’m so, so sorry I thought Vicky wouldn’t make it. Said Fred confusingly.
“STOP right there.” I said to the other team.
“Vicky, what are you doing here”. Fred asked.
“Our other teamates are looking for you let’s go.” I said.

We ran fast as we could, but the other team was still catching up. I called my teammates so that
they could help us. There they were waiting for us at the parking area. We saw them with... The
referee.
“Wait, is that the referee?” Fred and I said.
“Who cares if that’s referee just ask for help.” Fred said
“Help, help us the other team is chasing us,” we both said as loudly as we could.
“Fred, there you are,”  One of our teamates said.
When we got closer to them we asked for help.

“Help us, the other team is chassing us.” I said while puffing loudly.
“Oh, No they’re not.” the referee said. “Oyy, what are you doing.” the referee said bravely.
“We...we, were cha-chassing..them..” the other team said.
“You did what,(beeep) you are out of the game, for now.” said the referee.
“Oh, man” said the other team briefly.
