Reading plus 📚➕

 Hello everyone.

This term we are back to working on our reading plus. I had a great start but then found it difficult to focus on my work. The stories was interesting to read but i think it was my motivation. I found it hard to keep motivated on doing my work because i was so used to using reading plus all the time. Therefore i had to get support mode. Its when the combos doesn't add you up to another level.

Today our calss has been working on our reading plus progress. I have finnished my I-rate and G-rate and moved onto my vocabulary. I found it difficult to understand some words today for example: fundamental, nucleus, etc.. I knew the word but it was difficult to explain,

Reading Plus Vocab📚➕

 Hello everyone.

Today our class worked on you reading plus again to improve on our reading. I have been getting better at reading smoothly and picturing the actions in my head. I moved on from the reading tobic and to vocabulary. It is my first time doing the vocab work and I actually did pretty good. Some words i was confused on for example: Benefit, application, formation. I know what they mean but it's hard to define them.

Reading, Inferring📚🤓

Good day everyone. This week we have been currently working on improving our reading skills with Mr Mitchell. 

Our class was separated into groups and 3 groups have were created. The group i'm in is called 'Ice'. Both the groups Ice and Cheese have been working on Inferring. Inferring means you are guessing what the statements mean from the text you have read. Its basically making a statement from the info you have collected from the text.

Here is an example: "Jordan walked up the stage and started to clench up and felt like a tight knot was in her throat as she looked down at the ground."

From the clues I found in this text i can see that 'Jordan' I afraid to speak and feeling nervous or shy.

Sculpting a Turtle 🐢

Kumusta everyone, this week for our reading we have been focusing on arts and crafts. One of our reading follow up was to rewrite the tips about sculpture we had read about. Then we had to make try sculpting an object of our choice. Our groups didn't really read the activity properly so we all end up sculpting an animal.

Animations

Kumusta everyone?  For week 8's reading follow up, we were talking about 'animations'. We have moved on now to 'the internet'. We had to share one activity we did for 'animations' on our blog. I had already done the activities I just had to share it on my blog. I will be sharing a poster showing the history of animations.

How the Internet Works 😯

Hola everyone. For This weeks reading follow up, the kiwi group (our group) are learning about the internet. Our teacher has set up some work for us to do. Our 'must do' activities was to make A screencastify of how the internet works. For our  'choose one activity', i had to choose one out of three. I chose to do 'design an emoji and explain what emotion it is showing.

Learning about Skimming and Scanning!! 😮

Good day everyone.
 For our reading group's reading tasks, we are learning what is skimming and scanning. For task one we had to learn about scanning. We read some information about scanning. Then we had to make a poster showing what is scanning.

Then for task two we had to learn what is skimming. Skimming and scanning is kind of the same but scanning is not about reading its about finding. Skimming is fast reading. Then I also made a pster about skimming.

Dancing for Our Reading Task

For our 3rd reading task we had to either learn the 'Cha Cha' dance or create a flowchart showing how to do it. The girls of the Takahe group chose that they wanted to learn how to dance the Cha Cha dance so we were all in one group except for the boys they made a flowchart. We had only been practising for yesterday and today. We had now finished and we had created our final copy of the Takahe girls dancing. The girls that i was with dancing was Freya, Michaela, Nevaeh, Talisa and me. It was kind difficult to create positions and make a difference t the dance we were learning.
