I am a Year 7 student in the Uru Mānuka Cluster. This is a place where I will share my learning. Please note that some of it will not be complete, it will be my first drafts. Remember to be positive, thoughtful and helpful when you leave me a comment.

Summer Learning Journey Week 1 Day 3 Activity 2
Would you like to be a DOC ranger and live with the animals on Great Barrier Island?
List three pros (good things) and three cons (bad things)
(Good things):
- I will be able to see amazing animals
- You get to keep the animals safe from the pests
- You can help animals
(Bad things):
- You don't know if they are dangerous
- You can get hurt sometimes by the animals
- You have to work out doors even its a bad weather
I would like to be a doc ranger because I get to see animals that I haven't seen before. I t's also because I like helping animals that are in danger. I also get to monitor pests.

To support my learning I ask you to comment as follows:
1. Something positive - something you like about what I have shared.
2. Helpful - A sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what I had to say
3. Something thoughtful - how have you connected with my learning? Give me some ideas for next time or ask me a question.

Kia Ora Venice,
ReplyDeleteI am Gargee from Hay Park school, currently a year 7 during the holidays. I really like your post about being a DOC Ranger as it states very clearly why and why not being one is good or bad. I actually said I didn't want to be a DOC Ranger because of things that were in your post like the bad weather, and you can check out my blog if you want to see. One thing I have a question on is if you had to choose a carrier, would it be a DOC Ranger, or something else?
Happy blogging

Good morning Venice,
ReplyDeleteGreat job on summarising the pros and cons of becoming a DOC ranger. I am delighted to hear that you are interested in becoming a DOC ranger. I love animals as well and I would love to help them by volunteering for organisations such as SPCA. SPCA is the 'Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals' and they also help to save animals from harsh environments.
Do you have a favourite animal? There is no way I can choose one out of my big list so I'll tell you my TOP 3 - I love dogs, elephants and horses!
Talk to you soon,
Susie
