Olympics work Activity 1

Hello everyone, since school has shut down I have been working on my homework. We have been given some blogging activities. The blogging activities are about Olympics since Olympics is suppose to come soon but I think its cancelled. Here is some information first before, we get to what activity one is about.
Fun Fact: The first ever Olympic Games were held in Olympia, Greece in 776 BC.
Our Olympic Journey starts thousands of years ago in a place called Olympia. Olympia
was an ancient city in the country of Greece.

The ancient city of Olympia was the site of the first ever Olympic Games. They were
held in 776 BC. During these games, men from Greece were invited to participate in one
or more of the following events – running, jumping, discus throwing, wrestling, boxing,
pankration, horse and chariot races, and the pentathlon. The ancient Olympic Games
came to an end in 393 AD, approximately 1000 years after they had first started.
Here is activity one:
Activity 1: Let’s imagine that you were alive 2796 years ago and invited to compete in
the first ever ancient Olympic Games. Which of these events: running, wrestling, boxing,
pankration, horse racing and pentathlon would you compete in? Click here to read more
about each of the sports. On your blog tell us which sport you would choose and why
you chose it.

I prefer doing the stade running where I would sprint to the other side. I think stade is
easier because I just have to ran to the other side. I think wrestling and boxing is too
dangerous and it is possible I would get injured.

Though I would like to try doing the javelin.

I think that will be all.
Thank you for reading this blog post.
Feel free to comment.
Stay safe.

  1. Hi Venice
Thank you for doing this activity. I can understand why you would like to do the stade as you are a good sprinter. I have never been very good at sprinting so I would choose the middle distance event. I understand what you mean about boxing being dangerous.
I have tried javelin, when I was in high school, and it was hard to get the technique correct - I was never very good at it.
I have updated your formatting, as some lines ran on too far and couldn't be read. If you are copying and pasting from another document try control/shift/v, then it should paste without having to worry about the formatting.
    Keep up the great work.

    1. Hi Miss Scott.
Thank you for commenting on my blog post. I see why you have chosen the middle distance event. Thank you for fixing the lines. I didn't know it went over. Thanks for giving me advice on how to paste without it going over the page. Thanks again for commenting on my blog. I hope to see you soon. Stay safe.

  2. WOW Venice, what a lot of effort you have put into this work. It's great to see you using your chrome book during these longer than usual holidays.
Thank you for including the 'click here' as I was unsure what pankration was, but now I know.
I would choose the horse and chariot.Their 8 legs (I'm using 2 horses) would be faster than my 2.
Keep up the great work and I look forward to more of your posts.

    1. Hi Mrs Cassidy.
Thanks for commenting on my blog. The horse and chariot is a great choice. I agree that their 8 legs would be faster than my two legs. Thank you again for commenting on my blog post. Bye.
