 Hello everyone.

Today we went on reading plus again. Though this time we had a test. It gave you videos to watch describing what the tests are and it also made you answer questions and of course read some parts of books and ask you questions about it as well. The purpose of this test was to check how much we improved overall after being on reading plus for a long time. I think I improved a lot after being in reading plus for a while.

 Hello everyone.

Today we did another reading plus sessions. I finally got an 80% but i didn't get the same results when I read another book. I think it's because all the books that I choose is not that interesting. Some of the book that they recommended are somewhat boring to me. I think what I found hard to do today was concentrate on the book that I was reading.

Coding 👾💻

 Hello everyone.

At the start of this term we have been learning more about coding in code.org. First we did our courses to get a start at what coding is. Later after our class started a dance party where you code your own dance party and then vote on whose dance party was the best. Unfortunately I didn't participate on that as i was too busy doing the courses. 

On one of the lessons on code.org was to make a game where you had a conversations with the characters or sprites. I decided to code a conversation with a robot. Warning it might be creepy.

Today our class worked on our reading plus again. I read many book about inventors today, young inventors and inventors that changed the world. What i found difficult to do today was scoring over 80%. I think i found some words in the books hard to understand.

Who is your favourite inventor and why?

The Bus 🚌 Narrative Story

 Hello everyone.

Today I am currently finishing an activity that i started during lockdown. It was a wananga activity to do when you bored and honestly I was bored. I haven't written much as I just started on another story I decided to restart the whole thing because it wasn't something interesting enough for me to finish. The activity was to write a short story about a picture. 

My story is about a bus because that's what the picture was. It's a time traveling bus but I haven't written that down yet. 

Here is my work:

I saw a bright light flickering in the air. I heard a whisper in my ear “I shall give you

my power to know the truth. Find the mysteries of the bus.” 

I wondered to myself, “ What am I supposed to do with a bus?”

I suddenly woke up inside an abandoned bus. The air smelled very green so I guessed I was

near plants. I placed my hand on the moist floor and stood up as I felt the soft moss

growing out of the bus. I started to walk out of the bus, trying to figure out where I was.

I heard the angelic voice whisper in my ear again “I’ll give you a clue, try to remember what

happened a year ago.” I didn’t know why it told me to remember something a year ago

because I was in a coma that year and I don't remember anything before that, so

that was a problem. I went around the bus to search for clues. 

I somehow found a folded up piece of paper. The paper flickered with glowing sparks of

lights as I started to open it. To my surprise, words were written on the piece of paper.

“Meet me tomorrow at the last stop…..”

After being in lockdown for so long this is my first time doing reading plus after being back at school. I received great progress as I also did some reading during lockdown. The types of books i read today were about people who became successful.  Something im currently reading is the origin of some laws.

What kinds of books have you been reading?

Back to School from Lockdown🏫

Good day everyone.

Today we are back to school and social distancing. It's good to be back and see others face to face rather than being behind the screen for three weeks. It was pretty boring being at home all the time and going to daily google meets. The first thing we had to do was catch-up with our classmates and catch-up on work. 

I don't have too much work that due to be finished but hopefully I can finish them by today. Our teacher talked to us about the notices following the covid rules. We were told that we were allowed to choose whether to wear a mask or not to. We were also told not to make fun of people for what they choose to do, whether it's to wear a mask or not to. Mostly remember to just be kind.

Sophie Pascoe

 Hello Everyone.

This week for P.E we were tasked to study about paralympians and make a slideshow about them showing their achievements and info about them. I decided to study on Sophie Pascoe. For starters she is an Paralympian with a prosthetic leg and she is a swimmer. I worked really hard on making a this slide show. I decided to use a site called Visme instead of using slideshows because I thought it might make it to boring. It was my first time on Visme but it wasn't that complicated.
