Watercoloring Flowers ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒน ๐Ÿ–Œ️

 Hello everyone.

This term we have a new subject introduced to us which is Art. We started of by learning how to watercolour and how to use it properly. Of course water colouring involves water so we started of by getting water and got some watercolour paints. We learned some different types of techniques, for example layering, the intensity, Dilution, glazing and etc. We also tried different types of textures to add with water colouring. We experimented with plastic, sponges and also alcohol.

After we got used to water colouring and knew the basic steps we started making our flowers. A great tip is to start with the lightest colour first and don't paint over the spots you want to keep white. At the start I painted kind of recklessly and painting the darkest colour and then adding the lightest colours next.

Here are some photos of some watercolor flowers:

  1. Ka Rawe Venice! Your understanding of how the paint works and how to layer is very evident in your final painting. I love the blue! You have a great eye for colours that work well together as well - I really like the choices in your multi-flower composition. Keep exploring watercolour in your time! You have a great talent here.

  2. Hi Venice
Wow, you have some amazing skills in watercolour painting - these paintings are incredible! I also like the way you've written about the process you followed and the way you have reflcted on your technique. Have you tried any painting at home during lockdown? If not you definitely should, and add some blog posts about your work.
