The Guitar
Hola everyone.
For Hurumanu 2 or 'Counting the beat' we have been learning more about guitars and different types of music they play.
Mr Mitchel has brought guitars in the classroom for us to see. he brought a lot of acoustic guitars, a Spanish guitar and an electric guitar. The guitars that we saw that day were quite similar they all had the parts of a guitar but they all looked different.
An acoustic guitar is a little bit more harder to play than an electric guitar. Acoustic guitars doesn't really need other instruments to go with it because it already sounds good on its own.
Electric guitars have many numerous sounds that you could play. It is also easier to play than an acoustic guitar because it has lighter strings. Though it may be hard to play chords because of how little the space between the strings.
It is rather comfortable to play a Spanish guitar because its string are made out of nylon. The Spanish guitar has a quite wide space between its string unlike other guitars.
Thank you for reading this blog post.
Have you ever played a guitar before, if so what kind of guitar was it?
Counting The Beat
Good Day Everyone.
For Hurumanu 2 we have been learning about music. For the first few weeks we had to know what is music and where can we find music.
First we had do define music. Then we had to learn about different types of music and where we can find music.
Our definition of music this : "Music is sounds, notes and beats that are put together to express ideas or emotions."
The different types of music we came up with were : Rock n Roll, Rap, Country, Hip hop, Jazz, Blues, Lyrical, Metal, Heavy Metal, Classical, Calm, Pop, Karaoke, Electrical, Singing and Soft.
Where can we find, hear or experience music. Our class answered with this: "We can find music in Spotify, Public Toilets, Radio, Social Media, Movies, TV Programmes, Concerts, CDs, Speakers and Youtube.
That is all we had to do for the first few weeks. It has been really fun learning many types of music there are around the world. I'd like to learn more about string instruments like the ukulele and how to play it.

Heroes
Hello everyone.
This week in Hurumanu 1 we have been learning about Heroes. what makes a hero, a hero.
First we had to identify what is a hero and what makes them a hero. Some of the things that our class came up with was: A hero is Helpful, Brave, Courageous, Persistent and Resilient.
After that we had to find a hero that has most of these traits. Then we make a document that has a lot of information about them and what they did heroic.
I wrote about Dr. Jose Rizal. Here is my writing:
My Hero: Dr. José Rizal
Dr. Jose Rizal is known as a National Hero of the Philippines. He was born on
June 19, 1861 and died on the 30th of December in 1896. In his family he had
nine sisters and one brother.
People looked up to him as a great hero for he had sacrificed himself to the
colonizers as he believed that it would be better if we were in peace. Apparently
he had hid documents in his clothes and shoes on the day of his execution hoping
they would give his body to his family.
His Death was caused due to misunderstandings. After his release of being exiled
he was accused of being part of a revolutionary against Spanish colonizers. Eight
Filipinos from the firing squad were forced to execute him even though they didn’t
want to. Behind them were Spanish soldiers who were ordered to eliminate the
people who rejected to execute Dr. Jose Rizal.
Traits that made them a hero:
Great Role Model
Brave and courageous
Helpful
Persistent and Resilient
Putting others before themselves
Sacrificing
Respecting Others
Doing the right thing because it’s the right thing to do.
Kind to Everyone
Intelligent
Hardworking

Activities in Drama
Good day everyone.
The past few weeks the year 7/8 's we have been doing a lot of activities in Drama. I am also one of those people.
We were mostly doing games or activities that would help us in drama. One of the games were 16/16 circle where we had to go in a circle and take 16 steps to the right or to the left. The purpose of this activity is to time when to walk so we don't bump into each other.
We also played a game called walk and jump when the instructor says walk we have to walk or when they say jump we jump. This activity gives us the skill to move as a group and when to walk.
Another game we played was Fiesta. You had get in a circle and either go left and right by saying a certain word. This teaches us how to be aware of the person talking and be aware f what is happening around the circle.
Copy circle was also one of the games we played. It is where someone in he circle becomes the leader and we had to copy what they were doing. This activity teaches us how to move as a group and be aware of what the leader is doing.
All these games were basics of learning skills from Drama. These were Drama games that would help us during Drama Class.

Chinese New Year🐉 🏮
Hola everyone. After our EOTC activities our class is starting to get back on track with our interesting topic this week. This week we have been learning more about different kinds of New Years such us the Chinese New Year.
We had to get at least 10 facts about the Chinese new year. Then we had to either choose if wanted to make a simple Chinese lantern or take a challenge and try to draw the Chinese dragon. I ended up drawing the dragon. After we had either finished our lanterns or dragons we had to write the ten facts around our lantern or dragon.
Unfortunately I haven't finished my dragon yet but I hope I can show them later on.
Here is some of the facts I have written down:

Kids can Super Fun Run
Hello everybody. This week has been very exiting with our fun run happening.
The Kids can fun run had previously occurred on Wednesday. The main purpose of the fun run was to donate to kids can. We get to get prizes after The fun run ended. The 4 people who donated the most get to pie a teacher.
The event was held at Kyle park, I was one of the people that helped set it up. Our fun run had hurdles, a bouncy castle, foam sponges and a water slide.
The seniors would run two times around the park and go on the obstacles. We went down a water slide, under a cargo net and over and under hurdles. After that we went through a bouncy castle and past the people who were trying to hit us with foam sponges.
Classes had to wear costumes. Our class theme costume were Tutus. It was made by a net-like fabric. It was really fun and I enjoyed running over the obstacle course.
Here are some photos of the fun run:
