Hello everyone, for our challenge in the Techie crew we learn about bit, byte, kilobyte and more. The CPU says a number and the GPU translates it to a letter.
Here is a picture of the Binary alphabet.
Our task is to spell our name using Binary alphabet.
01010110 01000101 01001110 01001001 01000011 01000101
Translates to my name : VENICE
It has to be a capital because the small letters have a different code.
We also had to colour a paper with 3 different numbers to learn how fast the GPU can calculate the screen. We had to grab 3 different colours. A blue pencil, A yellow coloured pencil, A black coloured pencil.
Here is what it looked like after colouring the piece of paper filled with bits.

What do you think the picture is.
I am a Year 7 student in the Uru Mānuka Cluster. This is a place where I will share my learning. Please note that some of it will not be complete, it will be my first drafts. Remember to be positive, thoughtful and helpful when you leave me a comment.

100 word count Week 6
Hello everyone, This week we have a new 100 word count activity. For this week we had to have this sentence in our story ( "No," he said." I like marmite") I thought about what kind of food it was. I never tasted marmite before so i came up with a story about marmite. I made marmite come alive in my story.
Here is my story hope you enjoy.
Once upon a breakfast, Peanut Butter and Bread were playing at the table. There were other lunches there too. Peanut butter noticed Marmite being alone. Nobody wanted to play with Marmite. Peanut butter didn’t do anything, he just went back to Bread and with his other friends. They played truth or dare, it was Peanut Butter’s turn. “Who do you have a crush on?” said bread. Everybody Mumbled. Of course everyone knew he liked Jelly. “Hahahah, that’s easy it's Jelly!” Said pancake. “No,” he said. “I like Marmite….” Everybody gasped. It seems like Marmite heard everything they were talking about.

100 Word Count Story
Hello everyone, today's blog post is about this week's 100 word count story. 100 word count story is about having 100 words. Our Teacher gave us half a sentence and try to fit it in the 100 word count story. For this week we had to have the word "the orange one spoke first" in our story. I imagined orange as a Halloween decoration.
My 100 word count story is about Halloween, an orange decoration from Halloween is usually pumpkins.
Here is my story.
I hope you have an awesome day.

I was hopping up and down, every house in the neighbourhood gave me candies. “One last house to go!” I happily yelled. I hopped all the way to the last house. The house was full of mysterious decorations. It was full of spooky stuff, inside and outside. I walked towards the door and softly knocked. “Trick or treat!” I said. The only answer I got was mumbling. It sounded like the pumpkin on the ground. There were five colours. Blue, purple, pink, yellow and orange. They suddenly turned around, The orange one spoke first, “Sorry we ran out of candy.”

Flower Festival
Hello everyone, there is a flower festival coming up. Last term we did flower poems. We made flowers out of clay. We get to choose if we want the bakeable ones or the air dry clay. I chose the air dry clay. We were allowed to search up on our Chromebooks for some ideas. The more you play with the air dry clay the more it hardens so it was difficult to make a flower with the air dry clay. I made a three petal flower. I didn't have enough time to make more petals. Some people made roses. After the air dry clay was dry we got to paint them. The bakeable ones had to be baked before we painted them. I painted my flower a pastel pink. When it dried though it turned out white. I think I added to much white paint.
Here are some photos of flowers we made.
